1. How can I benefit from Megaventory?

Megaventory is an on-line platform designed to manage an inventory of products by issuing Inventory Transaction Documents to track inbound/outbound movements. On top of that, megaventory tracks Sales and Purchase Invoices, Sales Quotes, Sales and Purchase Orders and provides accurate and easily configurable reports (for inventory, availability and profits). Megaventory supports multiple locations and multiple users with various access levels to megaventory's modules.

2. What business scenarios can Megaventory support?

Megaventory can actually be used by any kind of business, business sub-entities or organizations that deal with movement, purchasing or sales of items. Possible scenarios include:

  1. Retail businesses with multiple retail points that need to keep track of product inventory and sales in every retail point in real-time
  2. Businesses that maintain more than one location and need a centralized control of items movements and sales
  3. 3rd Party Logistics Businesses that want to give realtime inventory information to their clients
  4. Wholesale businesses that need to distribute their product availability to their clients or business partners (business to business interoperability)
  5. Academic Institutions (schools, universities) or other education and social organizations (i.e. churches) that want to record and keep track of their inventory movements

4. How does megaventory move stock from one location to another? What about Orders and Quotes?

Megaventory uses goods inbound & goods outbound inventory transactions to move stock. Those transaction documents are multiple-row online forms that include product codes and quantities. For example, when a goods inbound document is saved, stock is added to a specific inventory location. Moreover, megaventory effectively handles Sales and Purchase orders and Sales Quotes. In megaventory the following Document Types are predefined when you create a fresh account:

  1. Goods Inbound & Purchase Invoice (Adds Stock and Updates the Product Costs of the products included in the Document).
  2. Goods Outbound & Sales Invoice (Reduces Stock and Updates Product Revenues of the products included in the Document).
  3. Goods Transfer (Reduces quantity of the products included in the Goods Transfer Document from one Inventory Location and Adds this quantity of products to another Inventory Location).
  4. Goods Inbound (Adds Stock without Updating Product Costs. You may later attach a Purchase Invoice (see below) to this Document to update the product costs.
  5. Goods Outbound (Reduces Stock without Updating Product Revenues. You may later attach a Sales Invoice (see below) to this Document to update the product revenues.
  6. Purchase Invoice (Does not Affect Stock - Updates Product Costs. It may be attached to a Goods Inbound Document. Once attached, the Goods Inbound Document will get an 'Invoiced' status.
  7. Sales Invoice (Does not Affect Stock - Updates Product Revenues. It may be attached to a Goods Outbound Document. Once attached, the Goods Outbound Document will get an 'Invoiced' status.
  8. Goods Return & Return Invoice (Cannot be issued independently but should be related to a Goods Outbound & Sales Invoice or a Sales Invoice). By issuing this Document, you are returning products that were associated with a sale and hence you will increase product stock, product Revenues and Costs.
  9. Goods Return (Cannot be issued independently but should be related to a non-invoiced Goods Outbound Document). By issuing this Document, you are returning products that were not associated with a sale (they were just shipped out) and hence you will increase product stock and product Costs but NOT Revenues.
  10. Sales Quote. This Document can be used to initiate a pre-sales process. The issue of the Sales Quote Document does not affect the stock or costs & revenues of those products included in the Sales Quote Document. The Sales Quote however, can be accepted by the client and hence conclude the pre-sale process and create a Sales Order Document.
  11. Sales Order. The issue of this Document simulates an order that is taken by your company (for example can be an online order through an e-commerce web-site, a phone order or a Fax) from a client. It can also be generated by a Sales Quote document as explained above. The issue of a megaventory Sales Order Document commits (puts on-hold) a certain quantity of products from a specific inventory location. The Sales Order document can have many statuses (for example, can be Partially or Fully Invoiced, Partially or Fully Shipped and Cancelled).
  12. Purchase Order. The issue of this Document simulates an order given by you to a supplier of yours. The Purchase Order does not have any immediate effect on stock. The Purchase Order document can have many statuses (for example, can be Partially or Fully Invoiced, Partially or Fully Received and Cancelled). When a Purchase Order is received by the issue of a Goods Inbound or a Goods Inbound & Purchase Invoice Document the Purchase Order status is changed to Partially or Fully Received and hence some -or all- of the products in the Purchase Order Document are received in the respective inventory location.

If your existing software can export your data in a structured format (such as excel or a comma delimited file), then you may use megaventory's import tool to instantly import all transactions, products and their linked attributes to megaventory. Further formatting instructions are provided inside the application.

6. What kind of business reports can Megaventory provide?

These reports may be further customized by the users according to the specific information that users want to extract. Once the reports are customized, users can save the configuration for 1-click access to the customized report at a later point.
